Seeking a life of sanctification Romans 6

Seeking a life of sanctification
Romans 6
1) Introduction
The sixth chapter of Romans is especially important because it shows us how it is important to cultivate a life of sanctification.
Throughout the Bible, sanctification has been an essential element in the relationship between God and his people. This quality of being separated from sin is a fundamental characteristic of God's holiness, which must be developed as part of the character of their children.
We note that since the creation, God wanted a holy people. And so, he wanted a special communion with us men, we were able to walk with Him is why we see in Genesis that Adam and Eve walked in the garden that God, and spoke with him. But soon sinned and lost this particular interaction. Were expelled from the Garden of Eden and now separated from God, experienced the consequences of what we call spiritual death.
But God chose the descendants of Abraham, our father's example of faith, to be a holy people, or separated people for their accomplish his purposes. He called his people that he might seek to cultivate a life of holiness. In Leviticus 11:44-45 God tells his people: "I am the Lord your God, so you consecrate yourselves and be holy, for I am holy ... I am the Lord that doth make up the earth's Egypt to be your God, so ye shall be holy, for I am holy. "
In the days of today, God still wants a holy people, and provided, through Christ, the means to purify sinners to serve him. Christians are holy people of God (1 Peter 2:5,9). Those who claim to be followers and Jesus should conduct themselves as a people sanctified and cleansed from the defilement of the world.
2) Here in the sixth chapter of Romans, Paul tells us three important truths about a life in pursuit of holiness and commitment to God:

2.1 We must be aware that we were crucified with Christ (6.6).
See what Paul says in verse 6: "... knowing this, that was crucified with him our old man, so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and should not serve sin as slaves ..".
What it means to be crucified with Christ here in this verse?
First we must understand that the old man is the symbol of the government of sin over our lives. And Paul is telling us here that the government of sin over. This government just because the dominion of sin over us has been destroyed on the cross. Our old man died, and so we are free from absolute dominion of sin.
We can have victory over sin if we walk in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. You must know that God does not isolate us from the world nor of impurities and corruptions in it, but it gives us spiritual conditions for us to have dominion over the influences of sin.
2.2 We also need to be aware that resurrected with Christ (6.5).
Listen to verse 5: "If we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of his resurrection ....".
Paul is teaching us here that will be resurrected as Christ was raised, and be clothed with glory as he was.
When a Muslim goes to the holy city of Mecca, he can find the grave of their leader Mohammed. He lived and died there. When a Christian goes to Jerusalem he will find the tomb empty your religious leader. There remains there, because he rose. There is no sense of death, but of triumph. "THE EMPTY TOMB OF CHRIST fills us with hope."
2.3 We need to understand that we are dead to sin and live for the Lord (6:6-10)
Romans 6:10 says: "For in that he died, once for all died to sin, but how to live, live for God."
Through the power of Christ, we die for the government of sin, and we live to serve God.
Paul advises us in verse 12, 13, "12 not reign, therefore, the sin in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, 13 Do not offer each of the members of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members to God as instruments of righteousness. "(Romans 6:12-13 NIV)
Offer to God is an intelligent and conscious act, and shall deliver a decisive match. The Lord wants us to surrender our life, our body is the temple of your Spirit, Lord and want to use it for His glory.
The Bible speaks of people who used their bodies to accomplish God's purposes. God used the stick in the hand of Moses and conquered Egypt. God used David's sling in his hand and knocked down the giant. God opened the eyes of John to that received visions of the future.
Paul also shows us that our body is God's instrument. Philippians 1:20 Paul says: "..... Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death."
3) Conclusion
If we serve sin, we can expect a reward of sin. And the word of God is clear in revealing that the wages of sin is death.
If serving God, it is certain that we will be rewarded. In Colossians 3:23,24, Paul teaches us: "23 Whatever you do, do it with all my heart, as unto the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance. The Christ the Lord, you are serving ... ".
